Bite into Books
By Glee Stormont
This display by Glee Stormont from Kailua Intermediate School in Hawaii is a great way to get students to read beyond the hugely popular Twilight series.
She says: 'The bats are cut from old book pages and the background paper that just looks white was newspaper to sort of look like book pages'. What a great display! Thanks Glee.
It is fantastic how 'Twilight' has hooked loads of teenagers into reading - many for the first time. I am capitalising on this to the max and moving them from here to other things. I have recently bought 'Wuthering Heights' with the new cover promoting it as Bella and Edward's favourite book. I'm certain it will fly off the shelves, unlike its old and tired-looking counterpart.
