Old Town / New Town

By Оlena Petrenko

It has been lovely to hear from Yuliya Antonova, a librarian from Ukraine, who has shared several of the imaginative and beautifully designed displays from her library.
Here is a display depicting a trip back in time to the old city. Old pictures and history books on one side compared to the new on the other side.
What a great idea to dig out all those old photos and give a visual history of our own towns.

New Zealand Stories

By Elaine Pearson

Here is a quick display to showcase all the Scholastic 'My New Zealand Story' books.
Pins on the map indicate where the stories are based.
My Story is a series of historical novels for children, each book is written in the form of a fictional diary of a young person living during an important event or time period in NZ history.

Take a Dig at these Books

By Sophie Blake
Sophie is the school librarian at Gladstone Park Secondary College (Melbourne Victoria Australia) and has kindly shared some of her displays with us.
This one is for Archaeology week. Sophie has included a World map of famous archaeological sites on her display, which looks really interesting.

If you would like to do a display for Archaeology Week next year this is the Australian site for details:
