Harold and the Purple Crayon

By Tracy Taylor

Thanks to Tracy for this fabulously fun idea. I am constantly amazed at the ingenuity and creativity of you all, this display would have cost Tracy hardly anything and yet it is so effective. Here are her comments:
'I sketched scenes from the book on the library windows to promote our family reading night activities based on Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson. I printed two pictures of Harold holding a crayon so it appears that he is sketching the buildings and police officer'.

Word Cloud Quiz

By Tracy Taylor

Thanks to Tracy from Kentucky for sharing this fabulous idea. Here are her comments:
'I created word clouds about popular books using the tagxedo website and displayed them in the library windows. Kids and adults alike have gathered around reading and figuring out which book each one is about. I put a “lift the flap” answer key on my door for those that get frustrated and can’t figure one out'.

If you give a kid a book ...

By Tracy Taylor

Thanks to Tracy from Kentucky for sharing another great display. Here are her comments:

'I saw this on Pinterest and adapted it to my windows for our I Love to Read week (we have a literacy week each Feb. in conjunction with Valentine's day)…we have door decorating contests, daily dress up themes, character parade, literacy projects, etc'.
